Face Microneedling Treatment

Microneedling is done by moving microscopic needles gently over the face to cause miniscule puncture marks. The controlled dermal wounding stimulates the wound healing cascade, resulting in the release of various growth factors to promote new collagen and elastin production, which are the building blocks of healthy skin.

It is combined usually with mesotherapy to get the contents of the serum as amino acids, vitamins, minerals, enzymes and hyaluronic acid into the skin for more repair process.

Treatment may be cosmetic or medical:

Cosmetic Treatment is a shallow treatment designed to brighten the skin and improve the penetration of the serum. This treatment leads to the maintenance of the skin’s texture, tone and strength.

Cosmetic treatment uses short needles up to 1.5 mm to stimulate the epidermis and the upper layer of the dermis. Cosmetic needling can reduce the appearance of wrinkles and fine line but may not be optimal for treatment of acne scars or other skin scars which may require deeper penetration to mechanically break up existing scar tissue.

Medical Treatment is targeting the deep layers of dermis so using longer needles 1.5 – 5 mm. It will stimulate the dermis making it possible to treat acne and other scars by breaking up scar tissues and inducing skin remodelling.

Combination of Mesotherapy, PRP and Microneedling

Mesotherapy or PRP is used with Microneedling to accelerate the process of:

  • Facial rejuvenation

  • Skin tightening

  • Fading wrinkles and lines

  • Treatment of hair loss

  • Targeting of skin pigmentation

  • Acne and Rosacea

  • Treatment of stretch marks

  5. Fluid intake should be over 2 litres a day.

  6. No make up for 2 days

  7. Avoid heat, direct sunlight, tanning bed, swimming and exercise for 2 days to avoid sweating, bacteria and infection.

Duration of the results

The client may feel the results in 1-3 days and can expect the results of micro-needling treatments to last for 18 - 24 months.

The longevity of the results depends on two factors; how long new collagen lasts in your skin and the degree of your skin concerns.

Frequency of the treatment

Microneedling treatment can be safely done about once every 4 to 6 weeks. This is the frequency that works best for the majority of patients of all skin types, but some patients find that micro-needling treatment more or less frequently than this range works best for their skin and their aesthetic goals.
